Description
This is a vintage Virginia pocket knife made in Seki, Japan by Tak Fukuta circa 1980s. Very similar to other knives like this that Fukuta made for Parker, it measures 4.25" long closed and features hardwood handles with scrolled bolsters and 440 stainless steel blade. The blade has a tight lockup and good snap. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. These are some of these rare finds.
