Description

This is a knife blade blank made by Tak Fukuta in Seki, Japan circa 1980s. It is identical to the Rigid RG-45 which Tak also made. One of his most popular Rigid designs, this is a fighting bowie version and the blade is just under 1/4" thick. This hefty mirror polished AUS-8 blank measures 12" long overall and the blade measures 7.5" long. It comes with the original guard. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Kife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This knife is one of these rare finds.
