This is a scarce Herbertz Sea-Buoy floating fishing knife made by Tak Fukuta in Seki, Japan circa 1970s-80s. It features a black and orange hollow handle that allows the knife to float if dropped in the water. The 4.5" blade is of quality AUS-8 high-carbon stainless steel. It comes with a black nylon sheath). Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others.
