Description
This is a vintage Excalibur folding liner lock pocket boot knife, made in Seki Japan by Tak Fukuta for Shelham circa 1980s. This is identical to the Parker folding boot also made by Fukuta. It measures 3 7/8" long closed and the 440C stainless steel blade measures 2 3/4". Marked "Excalibur", a brand of Shelham of Australia. This is old stock found in the original factory in Japan. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This knife is one of these rare finds.
