Description
This is a scarce vintage knife made in Seki, Japan in the 1970s by Seizo Imai for Compass Industries. It is thin and measures 5" long closed and features a stainless steel blade with stainless steel handle with glittery metallic composite inlays. Please note that one side of the handle is gold and the reverse is red, and one is slightly over thickness and raised above the stainless handle (see photos). Otherwise it is a nice vintage knife, very similar to Gerber folders made in Japan around the same time period. Seizo Imai was one Seki, Japan's finest craftsmen and most famous knifemakers of the modern era. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This is one of these rare finds.
