Description
This is a vintage Boker Magnum folding liner lock pocket boot knife, made in Seki Japan by Tak Fukuta circa 1990. Blade is 440 stainless steel. Marked "Magnum 440 Stainless," this is old stock found in the original factory in Japan. This one the blade can go up and down a little with pressure due to the linerlock going over across blade when locked open (still a decent lockup). May have slight gap between wood and liner. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This knife is one of these rare finds.
