Description

Description

This is a blemished Parker Benchmade series folding knife made in Seki, Japan by Seizo Imai circa 1980s for Parker. It has the original factory edge with handling wear/tarnish. The bone handles has a crack and both are nearly coming off and liners have gapping. The backlock is bound up and does not rock properly (this leaves blade floppy when closed and needing to have the lock pushed into place when open). The thumbstud and toplock were never finished - the small studs present are placeholders and are undersized and it is difficult to maneuver the blade closed.

Seizo Imai was one Seki, Japan's finest craftsmen and most famous knifemakers of the modern era. His collaboration with Parker spanned nearly two decades. He made knives for Parker, Frost, Browning, Explorer, Compass, Condor, and many others, including his own brands Imax and Seizo Imai. His custom Loveless style knives are works of art. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This is one of these rare finds.
