Description
This slim lockback was made for Gutmann Explorer in Seki, Japan circa 1980s by G. Sakai - one of the city's most respected knifemakers. It features a stainless steel handle and stainless steel blade. Has great function and has the feel of quality. It comes an Explorer box (although it is marked for a different model). G. Sakai has produced quality knives for many brands over the decades, including Al Mar, SOG, and Spyderco. For several years it made knives for Gerber, even changing its name to "Gerber Sakai" which was subsequently shortened to G. Sakai. The company now produces Spyderco's Japanese made knives which are known for their exceptional quality. This knife was recently found in the factory archives.
