Description
This is a vintage Japanese crafted pocket knife made in Seki, Japan by Seizo Imai for Parker & Son, circa 1982-1985. It features a second cut stag handle and nickel silver bolsters. Patterned after the Marbles safety knife design, it has a metal piece to fold in and hold the blade open so that it will function more as a lock back rather than a slip joint. Comes with nylon sheath marked Parker Imai on back and in Parker box, though not original for the model. Seizo Imai was one Seki, Japan's finest craftsmen and most famous knifemakers of the modern era. His collaboration with Parker spanned nearly two decades. He made knives for Parker, Frost, Browning, Explorer, Compass, Condor, and many others, including his own brands Imax and Seizo Imai. His custom Loveless style knives are works of art. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This is one of these rare finds.
