Description
This is a fantastic Gutmann Jaguar Scrimshaw linerlock knife made in Seki, Japan circa 1990s by G. Sakai - one of the city's most respected knifemakers. It is a rare and discontinued item! It features a Cream resin handle with jaguar scrimshaw on one side with stainless steel and pocket clip on the other side and a one hand opening 440 Stainless blade; original factory edge, sharp! It comes an Explorer box (although it is marked for a different model). G. Sakai produced quality knives for many brands over the decades, including Al Mar, SOG, and Spyderco. For several years it made knives for Gerber, even changing its name to "Gerber Sakai" which was subsequently shortened to G. Sakai. The company now produces Spyderco's Japanese made knives which are known for their exceptional quality. This knife was recently found in the factory archives.
