VINTAGE 1980s DRAGON-LOCK 11-474 TAK FUKUTA SEKI JAPAN STAINLESS 4" FOLDING BALISONG BUTTERFLY KNIFE -
All right!
This is an original vintage Herbertz camo butterfly knife, made by Tak Fukuta circa 1980s in Seki, Japan for Herbertz. These were manufactured for the German market and are only branded Herbertz Rostfrei and not marked Japan. We recently acquired this model from the Fukuta factory archives in Seki, Japan. He made the same model for several companies and we also have other identical versions with Japan tang stamps. It features a stainless steel blade, stainless handle with brass liner and latch. Knife only, no box.
Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others.
