Description
G. Sakai put a great deal of thought and attention to detail towards the Sakura-2 Karin-Kobu. The simple & subdued blade design presents an air of dignity. It features cherry blossom decorations on the bolsters and the skeletonized tang allows light to pass through the bolsters. The company's state-of-the-art 3D CNC machining creates these complicated geometric patterns. This knife features a Karin Kobu (Amboyna burl) handle with stainless bolsters and a full tang San Mai VG-10 blade with decorative jimping around the handle from the choil to the area just before the false edge starts. With this knife you can feel the dignity of Japanese history in the appearance of the Sakura resting in the black scabbard.
G. Sakai has produced quality knives for many top brands over the decades, including Al Mar, SOG, and Spyderco. For several years it made knives for Gerber, even changing its name to "Gerber Sakai" which was subsequently shortened to G. Sakai. The company now produces Spyderco's Japanese made knives which are known for their exceptional quality. G. Sakai continues to produce quality cutlery under its own name. This fixed knife is a fine example of the company's consistent tradition of offering the finest of Seki made knives.
