Description
Looking for a high quality trapper with guthook? Look no further. This fine hunting trapper knife was made by Tak Fukuta in Seki, Japan circa 1990s and is identical to the A.G. Russell AG-102 which Fukuta also made in 1997. The 4 1/2" trapper features beautiful mirror polished AUS-8 blades with excellent snap opening and closing and at half-way, nickel silver bolsters, and Ebony handles. The hook if very thick. Made for domestic Japanese market, blade marked "Zak" for Tak's son. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This is one of these rare finds. Stock photos.
