Description
This is a stunning ornate Parker folder made by Tak Fukuta in Seki, Japan for Parker circa 1980s. Made as an exact replica of a Saddle knife from the late 1840s with the same etch on the bone signed Jones 1851. It has stainless steel blades and Brass handles with bone inlays. Measures 5.6" closed and has a 4.5" long main blade. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This knife is one of these rare finds.
