Description
This is an original G96 Magnum Fillet knife, made by Hattori circa 1970s to early 1980s. Stored in the Hattori factory archives for decades, this highly collectible knife was only recently made available. Ichiro Hattori is one of the most widely known of master knifemakers of Seki, Japan, producing knives for G96, Valor, Kershaw, Browning, Fallkniven, Cold Steel and others. In new old stock condition (may have light shop wear), this is an extremely rare knife to find! Collectible, yet designed to use. It features a very sturdy blade nearly 3/32" thick x 1" wide at base x 9" long made of stainless steel, widely believed to be ATS-34, tempered to 60 plus rockwell. The handle is nicely designed blue synthetic. It is 14" long overall. Nice large fillet, but could be a boning knife too. Supplied from Hattori without a sheath, comes with cardboard blade guard. One of the best fillet knives of its age and highly sought after by those who remember having one back in the day.
