Description
This stunning lockback was made for the French company, Coursolle, in Seki, Japan circa 1980s by G. Sakai - one of the city's most respected knifemakers. It features a brown/black paper micarta handle and has nickel silver bolsters and and stainless steel blade. The top of the blade is rounded and the back spacer is brass. It has great function and has the feel of quality, reminiscent of the Al Mar folders from that era. G. Sakai produced quality knives for many brands over the decades, including Al Mar, SOG, and Spyderco. For several years it made knives for Gerber, even changing its name to "Gerber Sakai" which was subsequently shortened to G. Sakai. The company now produces Spyderco's Japanese made knives which are known for their exceptional quality. This knife was recently found in the factory archives.
