Description
This is a rare custom knife, made in Seki, Japan by Tak Fukuta circa 1980s-1990s. It features a stacked leather handle with metal guard and butt with hand polished AUS-8 blade and custom tang stamp with Tak Fukuta's personal custom stamp and individually serialized (serial number will vary). Approximately 100 made in this limited run. Made in a bayonet WWII trench knife style, the blade is 3/16" thick and is unsharpened as Tak made them. Knife only, no sheath. Tak Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprentice to Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor. Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives for Parker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, Frost, and Browning among others. After his passing, several vintage old stock models were found at his warehouse. This is one of these rare finds. Stock photos.
