Description
This is one of the best production made fillet knives of all time. Designed by Phillip Hoffman, founder of Lakota and Condor knives, this knife was made in Seki, Japan by Seizo Imai in the mid-1980s. The Condor 85SSG features a micarta handle, stainless bolsters, and a sturdy 7" long AUS-8 stainless steel blade. Made to be a fillet knife, but stiff enough to be a boning knife as well. Buck Knives recently produced a boning knife that has a similar shaped blade, but the handle on this one is a better design and was patented by Hoffman. You will notice the same design on other Condors. Highly collectible, yet usable. Comes from the closed factory of Seizo Imai and in storage for more than three decades.
