Description
The Kanetsune KB-421 Hayashi Field Knife features a one-piece white steel #2 blade which is extremely sharp and has a rough hammered black finish. It was designed intentionally so that the handle can be used as it is, or a handle of choice may be added. It all depends upon the unique way in which the craftsman or outdoorsman wishes to use the hayashi, and everyone has their own way of using it. Comes with a leather sheath that bears the Kanetsune logo.
About the KB-420 Series:
This series was named after a slogan, "風林火山(Fuu-Rin-Ka-Zan)", which a Japanese warrior Mr. Shingen Takeda (武田信玄) put up at the time of war:
風 = wind : Attack speedily like the wind!
林 = forest : Keep quiet like a forest!
火 = fire : Invade like fire!
山 = mountain : Be still like a mountain, to wait for the right moment!
