Description
This is a fantastic Gutmann Lynx Scrimshaw lockback knife made in Seki, Japan circa 1990s-2000s by G. Sakai - one of the city's most respected knifemakers. It is a rare and discontinued item! It features a cream resin handle with lynx scrimshaw on one side with elegant scrolled solid nickel silver bolsters and a 440 Stainless blade with great snap opening and closing with a solid lockup; original factory edge, sharp! It comes an Explorer box (although it is marked for a different model). G. Sakai produced quality knives for many brands over the decades, including Al Mar, SOG, and Spyderco. For several years it made knives for Gerber, even changing its name to "Gerber Sakai" which was subsequently shortened to G. Sakai. The company now produces Spyderco's Japanese made knives which are known for their exceptional quality. This knife was recently found in the factory archives.
