Description
This is a copy of the Searles Jim Bowie knife, made by Dixie Gun works that retails for $325. A long time ago, the original bowie was made for Jim Bowie by his brother in law David Searles, only 3 were made and they would be priceless. This one is made in Italy for Dixie Works, measuring a whopping 14" long overall and has a high carbon blade hardened to 57-59 Rc. African Ebony handle with a Silver oval on each side and pommel and finger guard are silver plated. The maker "Dixie Gun Works" is inlaid on top of the blade. Comes with the original sheath. Blade is 9-1/4" long by 1-1/2" wide by 1/4" thick. The blade has some staining and the handle has tarnish. Please see photos. Otherwise it is in very good shape.
